「死刑台のメロデイ（SACCO E VANZETTI）」1970年イタリア映画 の主題歌「勝利への賛歌」としてジョーン・バエズの歌にエンリオ・モリコーネの作曲でジョーン・バエズやジョルジュ・ムスタキではやった歌なので、聴いて見て下さればあ、どっかで聴いたなと懐かしく思われるかもしれません。

Vh1の記事からの最終回でご紹介したように、ナナは1997年、ニューヨークのSt. John the Divine聖堂で平和のためのコンサートを公演し、それは後にConcert　for Peaceのアルバムとしてリリースされ、アメリカのPBSテレビで番組放映された。

♪With over 300 gold and platinum disks worldwide, international singing sensation Nana Mouskouri celebrates a message of peace, love and hope in her first-ever U.S. television special. NANA MOUSKOURI: CONCERT FOR PEACE aired as part of PBS' August 1998 Pledge Drive.
In this spectacular concert, recorded this October 25, 1997 at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City, the Greek singer recognizable by her square black glasses and center-parted black hair delivers an emotional, inspiring and very personal performance. Draped in white, standing in a halo of a single spotlight, Mouskouri's angelic voice is in its element.

Nana Mouskouri has recorded more than 1,000 songs in ten languages since her first recording in 1959. CONCERT FOR PEACE features Mouskouri singing in Greek, Spanish, Latin, French and English. Selections include Gospel ("Amazing Grace"), classical ("Ave Maria") and ballads ("Love Changes Everything") as well as songs from her latest recording Return to Love, including the anthem "I Care." "The magic of a song," says Mouskouri regarding the diversity of her repertoire, "is to belong to everyone at the same time for different reasons."

Mouskouri was first brought to the attention of American audiences in 1962 when Quincy Jones produced her first album in the U.S., The Girl From Greece Sings. Bob Dylan was so taken by Nana's performance at a 1979 concert that he wrote a song for her. Nana's "fan club" also includes Neil Diamond, Julio Iglesias and Harry Belafonte, who has toured with her in the United States and Canada.

CONCERT FOR PEACE was a command performance for the global leader of the Orthodox Christian Church, His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, known as the "Green Patriarch" for his environmental concerns. In addition to her career in music, Mouskouri serves as Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF and is an elected Deputy to the European Parliament, where she has made great impact on humanitarian policies concerning children and women's issues.

♪In 2004, Universal France publishes a 34Cds Integral Box (the biggest ever ｒeleased in the world), plans to　release later the english one (22 CDs) and the german one (18 CDs). Germany offers Nana to produce herself
in a concert with a philarmonical orchestra in Berlin for Nana 70's anniversary. Nana announced that　she will stop singing in 2005, after a farewell world tour. The tour started in April 2005 and will end in 2007. ♪

２００４年、フランスのユニバーサルレコードは34枚のCDをまとめたコレクションボックス（世界でこれまでで一番多いの枚数のリリース）を発売した。その後、英語のボックス（22枚のCD）、そしてドイツ（18枚のCD）と計画された。ドイツでは、ナナ自身がプロデュースできる形のフィルハーモニックオーケストラを伴奏にしたコンサートがでベルリンで70歳記念に企画された。ナナは、2005年に、世界を回るフェアウェルコンサートツァー終了後歌手活動を辞めると宣言した。そのツァーは2005年４月から始まり、2007年に終わる予定である。

ナナ　ムスクーリの映像を探していて、昨年発売されたDVDがあることを知った。
日本やアメリカのアマゾンではでてこないが、ドイツのAmazonから購入できるらしい。

どうか日本でも発売してくださいな。

なお、ドイツ語が全くできないため、憶測になるが、ネットでradio BremenのサイトにこのDVDに関係あるかと思われる記事を見つけたのでご紹介させていただく。

Eine musikalische Stadt-Land-Ansicht

Die Brille wurde zu ihrem Markenzeichen, von dem sie sich auch später nicht mehr verabschieden wollte. Überzeugt hat sie ihr Publikum aber vor allem mit ihrer Stimme. Neun Jahre absolvierte sie eine Ausbildung in klassischem Gesang. Die Vorbilder, denen sie nacheiferte, kamen allerdings aus dem Jazz: Bessie Smith, Ella Fitzgerald, Bing Crosby und Mahalia Jackson. Mit der populären Kunst bekam es Nana Mouskouri frühzeitig zu tun. Ihr Vater stammte aus der Kinobranche, ihr erster Mann Georges Petsilas leitete das Showorchester 'The Athenians', bei dem sie ihre ersten Erfolge als Sängerin feierte. Jazz und Chansons standen am Anfang ihrer Karriere, und wie selbstverständlich war Athen, ihre Heimatstadt, der Mittelpunkt ihrer Welt. 1964 ging sie auf Welttournee mit Harry Belafonte. Als das Militär 1967 in Griechenland die Macht übernahm, lebte sie bereits in der Schweiz. Nach Athen kehrte sie erst 1984 wieder zurück und gab im Amphitheater zu Füßen der
Akropolis ein Konzert.

Nana Mouskouris Athen ist eine ewige Stadt. Eine Wiege der europäischen Kultur, dabei aber lebendig geblieben, voller Traditionen und doch bereit, sich der Gegenwart zu stellen. Nana Mouskouri führt ihr Publikum zu den schönsten und zu den verschwiegensten Plätzen Athens, auf die Akropolis und in den Hafen von Piräus, ins Epidaurus-Theater, in die aufregenden Markthallen, an den Kanal von Korinth und auf die Lieblingsinsel der Athener, Hydra. Sie demonstriert die Vielfalt ihres musikalischen Könnens in der Stadt, auf die die Götter einst vom Olymp gnädig herabblickten.

Für die ARD-Reihe "Ein Star und seine Stadt" zeigten sich die griechischen Gastgeber in Athen sehr großzügig. Bei den Aufnahmen für das Lied Exi Martiou sperrten die Betreiber der Akropolis ihr Wahrzeichen ? Nana Mouskouri sang dort den Song von ihrer Freundin Melina Mercuri ganz alleine, ohne Touristenmassen. Im Theater von Epidaurus erfüllte sich Nana selbst ihren größten Wunsch ? zum ersten
Mal sang sie in dem grandiosen Amphitheater das Ave Maria.

Songs in sieben Sprachen, inklusive der Hits wie ?Weisse Rosen aus Athen“ und ?Sieben schwarze Rosen“ zeigen das große künstlerische Spektrum von Griechenlands weiblichem Superstar.

Das ursprüngliche Feature vom 06. Dezember 2001 wurde durch eine Vielzahl bisher nicht bekannter Songs, neu gedrehter Szenen und Motive in Athen und Griechenland komplett aktualisiert.
