Praxiteles exhibition opens at Louvre
Greece's culture minister George Voulgarakis and French minister of culture and communication Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres will inaugurate a major exhibition on the work of 4th century BC Greek sculptor Praxiteles at the Louvre Museum on Monday evening in Paris

On Wednesday evening, Voulgarakis will attend the decoration of Greece's internationally-renowned singer Nana Mouskouri by French prime minister Dominique de Villepin, followed by the opening of an exhibition by Greek painter Nicki Papatheochari, titled "The Bacchanals of the Greek Sea" at the Montparnasse Museum.

MONTREUX, Switzerland, July 18 (Reuters Life!) - R&B singer Alicia Keys returned to the Montreux Jazz festival, giving a high-energy 90-minute concert mixing early hits with recent tracks from her chart-topping "As I Am" album.
"One of my all time favourite things is coming to the Montreux Jazz Festival. There is something different in the air here," the Grammy Award-winning American singer and pianist told the crowd on Thursday night.
"There is so much incredible talent here," she added.

Keys thanked Jones, whom she called "the Godfather of Montreux". The African-American, who co-produced the event from 1991-93, was feted at a marathon concert on Monday night which brought together stars including Herbie Hancock, Patti Austin, Mick Hucknall, Al Jarreau, Nana Mouskouri and Petula Clark.

The world famous Greek singer, Nana Mouskouri, the biggest-selling female artist of all time, will give a concert at her birthplace, the city of Chania, on the island of Crete, on Friday, July 18 within the framework of her farewell tour.
Mouskouri will tour a number of major cities in Greece thus ending her singing career after 49 years.
She first appeared as a singer in 1959 and since then she has recorded roughly 1,600 songs and 450 albums in 8 languages. She has sold over 300 million records and has received 350 gold and platinum records.
Mouskouri is a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF and has been honored by the presidents of Greece and France, her adopted country.
