Una Furtiva Lacrima (A furtive tear) is the romanza taken from Act II of the Italian opera, "L'Elisir d'Amore" by Gaetano Donizetti. It is sung by Nana Mouskouri.

In the Opera, Nemorino found that the love potion he bought to win his dream ladys heart, Adina, has worked.

Nemorino was in love with Adina, but she wasn't interested in a relationship with an innocent, rustic man. To win her heart, Nemorino bought a love potion with all the money he had in his pocket. The love potion was actually a cheap red wine sold by a traveling con man. But when he saw Adina weeping, he knew that she had fallen in love with him and the Elixir worked.
