Medley Mireille Mathieu & Nana Mouskouri & Nilsen Brothers

1. Mireille Mathieu - Hinter den Kulissen von Paris 2002
(Original von 1969)
La-la-la la-la-la-la
Hinter den Kulissen von Paris
Ist das Leben noch einmal so süss
Drum gib mir deine Hand
Ich zeige dir ein Land
Und das liegt

Hinter den Kulissen von Paris
Denn dort ist das wahre Paradies
Und ewig fliesst die Seine
Und ewig ist l'amour
So wird es immer bleiben
Tagein, tagaus, toujours

La-la-la la-la-la-la la-la-la-la-la
Hinter den Kulissen von Paris
Ist das Leben noch einmal so süss
Kein Fremder kann es sehen
Darum ist sie so schön
Die Liebe

Hinter den Kulissen von Paris
Denn dort ist das wahre Paradis
Und ewig fliesst die Seine
Und ewig ist l'amour
So wird es immer bleiben
Tagein, tagaus, toujours

Entré, entré mesdames, monsieur
C'est grand théâtre Paris

Und ewig fliesst die Seine
Und ewig ist l'amour
So wird es immer bleiben
Tagein, tagaus, toujours
La-la-la la-la-la-la la-la-la-la-la

2. Nana Mouskouri - Weisse Rosen aus Athen 1987
(Original von 1961)
Weisse Rosen aus Athen
sagen mir, komm recht bald wieder,
sagen dir auf Wiedersehn,
weisse Rosen aus Athen.

Weisse Rosen blühn an Bord,
in der weiten, weiten Ferne,
blühn für dich allein so schön,
weisse Rosen aus Athen.

Auf Wiedersehn, Auf Wiedersehn

Odeon of Herodes Atticus

Getting There

The Odeon of Herodes Atticus - known as the "Herodeon" - is situated on the southern slopes of the Acropolis, on Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. Entry to the Odeon is from the pedestrianised Dionyssiou Areopagitou Street, a walkway linking Athens' main archaeological sites. The venue is easily accessible due to its location in the heart of the city.

By Metro
Alight at Acropolis Station (Line 2)
http://www.ametro.gr/

By Bus
Alight at the Erechtheiou stop, or at the Afetiria ("last") stop (Served by Route 230)

Parking

Cars
There is limited parking in the surrounding area. Particularly convenient, if a little further away, is the car park of Syngrou-Fix Station (Metro Line 2). If you use the Metro for your return journey from the Odeon, you are entitled to a 50% reduction in the car park fee when you present your Metro ticket.

Coaches
There is a parking area for coaches in front of the "Dionysos Restaurant" (43 Rovertou Galli Street).

Accessibility

Ramped access is provided by a wooden, non-slip ramp that leads from the venue's stage door to the A1 section of the lower tier (see venue plan). There is also an adapted toilet, with marble access ramp, at the entrance.

Wheelchair users are granted vehicular access to the square in front of the Odeon. To avoid congestion, you are advised to arrive between 19.30 and 20.15.

Concessions are available for wheelchair users and people with severe mobility difficulties, or with visual or hearing impairment, as well as for one companion per person.

Eight wheelchair spaces are available in the A1 section of the lower tier, which has been specially adapted. Each wheelchair user is entitled to bring one companion, who sits in the A2 section immediately behind them.

The remaining available seats in the A2 section are reserved for non-wheelchair users with mobility difficulties, who are also entitled to bring one companion each. There are a total of 13 seats available in the A2 section.

For further information, please contact the Theatre Manager, Keti Vavalea, by telephone (+30 210 32 41 807), or by fax (+30 210 32 48 581).

Please note that the following are not permitted:

  1. Entry into the Odeon after the start of a performance, except during an interval.
  2. The attendance of children under the age of six.
  3. Smoking, and the consumption of food and drink inside the auditorium.
  4. The use of mobile phones during performances
  5. Entry into the Odeon in heels.
  6. Photography, with or without flash, and sound or video recording during a performance.
  7. The tipping of staff.

Please note that discarded food and drink - and especially chewing gum - can damage the historical monument irreparably. As you leave, therefore, be sure to put all litter and rubbish in the waste baskets provided.

Åéêüíá ôçò ðáñÜóôáóçò

In 1961, Nana Mouskouri was leaving Athens behind to pursue the dream which Europe seemed to promise her. Her confidence in herself and what she was doing, coupled with a lot of hard work, made her an ambassador for Greek song, and her efforts have brought Greek music to the four corners of the world. Now, 50 years since her debut, she returns to bring her career to a sparkling end in one of her homeland's most glorious theatres. Singing everything from Hadjidakis to Dylan, and Irish ballads to the polyphonic folk songs of Epirus, she shows us why she has remained a star for so long, and what it is that has kept her at the top: her sense of wonder. Wonder-struck at the gift Nature has bestowed on her, she accepted it and made it part of herself without ever demanding admiration in return [A.D.].
