Because on 23.07 at Herod Atticus, Nana Mouskouri ends, her grandiose, international career. While thousands of people from around the world (with the Australians at the top) are looking for tickets with anxiety already since February, Miss Nana Mouskouri from her Paris house, answers the Proust’s Questionnaire.
How do you imagine perfect happiness ?
There is no perfect happiness when you know that there are people that suffer. Although one can feel happiness with a simple smile of a child or surrounded by beloved persons. Or even when one wakes up and sees the sun. Little pleasures than bring hope.
What’s your biggest fear?
To lose persons I love
What personality of history you’d identify yourself with ?
None. The only person I identify myself with is my mother, because unconsciously and instinctively I try to do what she didn’t.
What living person do you admire?
Women and men that help social and moral evolution of their country and the world.
What feature of yours repulse you most?
That I don’t allow myself to rest. I feel guilty when I rest
What’s your biggest waste of money?
In general I think that I spend my money in a correct way. I spend a lot on telephone bills and travels: both to bring me closer to my beloved ones.
What’s your favourite route?
The one that leads me home. Mostly Paris-Athens
What’s the most overvalued virtue?
Goodness and charity. Both should have been taken for granted.
When do you lie?
I just prefer not to tell the truth ! Or I avoid it !
What don’t you like about your look?
I have learned to accept myself as it is
What living person do you despise most?
Verb ‘despise’ doesn’t exist in my vocabulary. I can’t stand injustice, egoism and the lack of respect in general
What world or phrase do you use all the time?

If by accident I’ve heart friends
What or who is the greatest love of your life?
The stage, my songs, my children, my grand daughter and my present husband, who has helped me with his love and care to arrive where I am today.

To make politicians put peace as a frontier of hope for the future
How do you feel this very moment?
When I was 20, I was curious for life, with many dreams and even more fears. The only think I am sure of now is that somewhere there is love for everyone. Provided they are willing and able to see it.
If you could change one thing in your family, what would that be?
Make my children speak better greek.
What do you think is your greatest achievement?
That I’ve lived and traveled our country for 48 years now all around the world without losing my greekness. The others found out my greek identity through my life , my songs, through Gatsos, Hadidakis but also through Dylan and Cohen. That’s the special identity of my country: optimist, proud, poetic and lyric, with patience and honesty, full of gratitude and a philosopher’s hope.
If you died and came back to life, what person or what would you like to be incarnated in ?
In a dove that brings peace and inspires justice
What’s your most valuable thing?
The trust and the love of the public and that of my family and my friends. And that I managed to keep these three at the same time.
What do you think is the worst unhappiness?
Not to be able to see the unhappiness of the others

Where fortune takes me, trying to work properly, by all means

Comment imaginez-vous le bonheur parfait?
Il n'existe pas de bonheur parfait quand on sait qu'il y a des gens qui souffrent. Bien sûr, on peut ressentir le bonheur avec un simple sourire d'un enfant ou entouré par des personnes chères, ou encore pendant un lever de soleil. Les petits plaisirs sont porteurs d'espoir.
Quel est votre plus grande peur?
perdre des personnes que j'aime
A quelle personnalité de l'histoire que vous vous identifier?
Aucune. La seule personne à laquelle je m'identifie est ma maman, parce que inconsciemment et instinctivement, j'essaie de faire ce qu'elle n'a pas pu faire.
Quelle personne vivante admirez-vous ?
Les femmes et les hommes qui aident socialement et moralement à évolution de leur pays et du monde.

Le fait que je ne m'accorde jamais de repos. Je me sens coupable quand je ne fais rien.

Lorsque j'avais 20 ans, j'étais curieuse de la vie, avec beaucoup de rêves et encore plus de craintes. La seule chose dont que je sois sûre maintenant, c'est que quelque part il y a de l'amour pour tout le monde, pour autant que vous soyez disposé et apte à le voir.
Si vous pouviez changer une chose dans votre famille, Ce serait quoi ?
Faire que mes enfants parlent mieux le grec.
Que considérez-vous comme votre plus grande réalisation?
Avoir vécu et voyagé pour la Grèce pendant 48 ans dans le monde entier sans perdre mon âme grecque. Les autres ont découvert mon identité grecque par le biais de ma vie, mes chansons, à travers Gatsos, Hadidakis mais aussi par Dylan et Cohen. C'est la carte d'identité spéciale des gens de mon pays : optimiste, fier, poétique et lyrique, avec patience et honnêteté, pleins de gratitude et un philosophe de l'espoir.
