Eight months later, I received my first golden record for "White rose of Athens" selled more than a million copies in Germany.

Louis Hazan asked me to sign an international engagment with Philips-Fontana France Company.
France became my second country. I had many friends in Paris. I learned what singing in french music-halls means and I had stage experience.
Above all, I learned to sing in french.

スランスは私にとって第二の祖国となりました。私はパリに多くの友人を得、フランスのミュージックホールでどのように歌えばいいのか、ステージでの演出を学習しました。なによりも私はフランス語で歌うことを学びました。

One day, I met Irving Green, Mercury Records President, who introduce me to Quincy Jones (he was A and R manager there). He loved Paris and a lot of french artist.
ある日、マーキュリーレコードの社長だった アーヴィン・グリーンと会いました。彼が私をクウィンシー・ジョーンズ(A＆Rマネージャー)に紹介してくれました。彼はパリやフランスの多くのアーチストが好きでした。
