Nana Mouskouri, who’s completing 50 years of a singing career this year, is concluding her long Farewell Tour, which started in 2004 and will end with a big concert on July 23rd and 24th at the Herod Atticus Odeum in Athens
Nana Mouskouri, in one of her rare interviews, received Nikos Aliagas in her house in Vouliagmeni. An interview - confession for the course of her career, honest and emotional.
Nana Mouskouri was talking about the beginning of her career and memories from came up. Beautiful moments, professional opportunities, proposals and denials as well, came in Nana’s mind. Her co-operation with Jules Dassen, and her refusal to Konstantinos Karamanli's proposal to sing at Herodium were some of the events she recalled with emotion and nostalgy. She was talking about her relationship with Manos Hadjidakis, her close friend Nikos Gatsos, and Konstantinos Karamanlis as well.
She's also refered to her warm relationship with her audience, which came and still come from all countries in the world.
*Nana Mouskouri is a phenomenon in the worldwide music. She managed to record more than 1600 songs in 8 languages, released more than 450 records around the world and sold more than 300 million records. Nana received more than 350 golden and platinum records all over the world.
Except for her intensive artistic activity in the music world, Nana Mouskouri also has an intensive humanistic action to display, being an ambassador for UNICEF since 1993 and has contributed in many fields with the FOCUS ON HOPE Institution.
Within her significant awards, belongs the medal of the Greek Republic, the one of the "Higher Brigadier of the Batallion of the Good Deeds", the medal of the French Republic "Officer of the Legion of Honor" and the "Big Cross of the Batallion of Honor of the Dominican Republic”.
